Joint Pain

Joint Pain

Joint pains can be debilitating and affect function, mobility and affect your sleep.  It could be due to the natural wear and tear, but also due to injury, inflammatory arthritis or damage to the bone due to certain treatments.  Some of the pains arise from the muscles, ligaments and nerves around the bone and joint.  Joint pains are usually managed by rheumatologists and orthopaedic surgeons, but we can help improve pain and aid rehabilitation without resorting to surgery or long term medications if joint function is affected due to persistent pain.

Success rate and Recovery

Serious damage to the joint and restriction of movement may warrant surgery, but there are several options to optimise pain management.  We can work along with the surgeons and rheumatologists to give you the best available treatment options without compromising on mobility and function.  As life expectancy is getting better, we are delaying joint replacement surgeries as well as improving pain management in those who had joint replacement surgery.  We tend not to recommend repeated steroid injections and avoid medications that are potentially harmful in the long term.
